ReeFab eplorations from the field

Dive into the journey towards ecological shift in makerspaces

During 2024, in the first phase of the project, we organized visits to companies, workshops and makerspaces committed to the ecological transition. The aim was to observe their practices, understand their business models and analyze their innovations. These explorations enabled us to document inspiring initiatives and identify the challenges facing these structures.

Each visit was enriched by discussions with people working in the field: entrepreneurs, craftsmen, makerspace managers, recycling experts, designers, company directors, communications managers, machine operators, and so on. Using a pre-established interview framework, we explored the environmental, economic, technical and social issues at stake in their activity. These discussions brought to light structural obstacles, but also opportunities for new collaborations.

To collect and share our learnings from these field visits, we created a document nicknamed the “atlas".

This document highlights verbatims, pictures, and our analysis to progress towards inclusive learning experiences for young adults.

It will be available for download very soon.
